Prayer

Standing in the gap through intercession

What is Prayer?

Prayer is communication with God, including receiving answers. Prayer is not “trying” to get something from God, for God already knows all things. However, we still pray because God commands us to, and He is ready to answer.

Prayer is not a religious ritual. Prayer is primarily our communication with the Lord. Communication has purpose, and the purpose usually determines the mode and details for the communication to be effective.

Why We Pray

For Christians, prayer is a vital privilege and a profound honour. It is an investment in eternity and a means of deep communion with God the Father and Jesus Christ. Scripture calls us to pray continually (1 Thessalonians 5:17), preparing us to receive God's Spirit and guidance.

Through prayer, we activate immense power to change circumstances and shape destinies. It is during these moments that we can align ourselves with God's goodness and blessings, which He generously provides every day (Psalms 68:19).
